Longmeadow School
We were requested by Mace Architects and
Ashe Construction to design and build a
canopy to over-sail the existing school
buildings at Longmeadow School in
Stevenage. The structure was over 60m
long with a 29m section at right angles and
was over 4m deep. There were also 8m x
6m recesses which also had to be covered
in at the same time. The system needed to
be non-fragile to give added safety as the
existing building has a flat roof. On
completion Mace Architects, Ashe
construction and the school were very
pleased with the final results.
