School Canopy - Education - Longmeadow School

We were requested by Mace Architects and Ashe Construction to design and build a canopy to over-sail the existing school
buildings at Longmeadow School in Stevenage. The structure was over 60m long with a 29m section at right angles and was over 4m deep.

There were also 8m x 6m recesses which also had to be covered in at the same time. The system needed to be non-fragile to give added safety as the existing building has a flat roof. On completion Mace Architects, Ashe construction and the school were very pleased with the final results.

School Canopy - Education - Dover School

We provided this school in Dover with a covered area for the children to wait for transport to take them home. The whole
structure was linked to the school building and gives the children a covered walkway into the school to avoid getting wet during
bad weather.

Covered Canopy - Education - Millwood School, Surrey

This project for Mouchel architects involved building a 6m x 18m duo-pitched canopy with another similar canopy running at right angles to it, with an attractive intersection in the middle.

The requirement for supporting posts to be positioned only on the permiter of the walkway was met by a carefully designed steel supporting structure carrying our own aluminium glazing bars.

The walkway was fabricated on site and we also undertook the foundations as well.

Covered Canopy - Education - King Charles School

The canopy supplied and erected at King Charles was one of many, fitted for the Cornish PFI. A 30m x 3.5m lean-to-canopy in blue aluminium. The structure was designed using a 75mm x 75mm box sections glazing system which was polyester powder coated to the client's specification.

GE Thermoclear polycarbonate sheet was specified as the glazing material. The whole structure was fixed to the wall by wall plates and then flashed back using a purpose made colour co-ordinated aluminium flashing.

Covered Walkway - Education - Fordham School, Essex

This covered Walkway for pupils at Fordham School in Essex, features a duo-pitched tiled roof to create visual synergy with the school buildings. Beneath the pitched roof, the space has been utilised to carry services, above a multiwall polycarbonate ‘ceiling’. The support structure is aluminium, finished in white powder coating.

Covered Walkway - Education - Wiltshire School

This school in Wiltshire required a covered walkway to link the main building with separate classrooms, so that both children
and staff do not get wet walking from one area to another. The walkway was constructed to link two of these areas together and also incorporated a covered area in the design, to give the children a dry area outside all year round.

Covered Play Area - Education - Swindon School

This school in Swindon needed an enclosed area with space for the children to eat their packed lunches at break times. WE levelled the playground, laid a concrete base, build wheelchair ramps and safety handrails. We also fitted double glazed doors and windows and laid a flooring finish, measuring 10m x 16m (33’ x 52’) giving a finished area of 160m2. It achieved everything the school required and gave them a room that they are able to use for other events, providing an income when the structure is not in use.

Covered Canopy - Education - Galley Hill School, Hertfordshire

The school wanted a large high canopy over-sailing the flat roof of the classroom, which would allow the nursery children to play outside all year whatever the weather conditions. They also wanted as much natural light as possible. The structure was fabricated from PPC steel and glazed with 25mm bronze multiwall on the roof and the vertical cladding. We also fitted PPC electric perforated aluminium roller shutters to provide security for the play equipment and to allow ventilation whilst still allowing a view outside.
